the guy did it himself with some help from a "friend" ......
He said he was tired of the trouble he had for the 10 years since he built his house, with the Heatmaker boiler
and that he had installed 3 expansion tanks.....

Got there and saw why... he had piped all the baseboard with PB tubing, no O2 barrier.....

Now what????

FP heat exchanger???? And a new boiler, of course....

Probably my favorite.....the GV

That is where I'm leaning......

Any other choices?????

Thanks.... floyd

    Sorry about that

check all the crimp connections also. make sure you have copper rings.

Another option would be all non ferrous components. Copper tube boiler (make sure the headers are bronze or glass lined) or stainless boiler with brass or stainless pumps, purgers, etc.

Even still I would monitor water quality, ph especially.

Or replace the PB with PAP :)

OK, I'm assuming he's having a LOT of oxygen infiltration problems then.

First, slap him upside the head and say "Dumb *$()&."

Then, perhaps you could alleviate some of the problem by installing air scrubbers?

Anyway you look at it though, I'd say he's significantly cut the life expectancy of his boiler...

    The new one, that is.
