    it scary

to the man whom wears many hats,I for one would like to thank you for spending time that you have to make us all aware that its becoming a big problem.
We here in the tidewater area of virginia just lost a wethead to legionnaires. His name was Bruce Baines,a
great guy and one who turn me on to my first hollohan book eight years ago. Don't know all the details ,but from what I herd it was from a hot tub,and yes he was a smoker so one would assume that this only made it worse.
Only 45 years young what a shame,he will be miss.
Thanks Mr Yates and keep the info coming.

The coming of the third plague

    Don,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Unfortunately, we are fighting an uphill battle regarding awareness and prevention of LD. Too much of that resistance is coming from where it should not be - in our own trades. When LD is recognized for the magnitude it really holds, SARS and the other blips on the radar screen will pale by comparrison.

Thanks for lending you voice to the cause. Your are correct that smokers are at risk where LD is concerned.
