Dead Men Speak- Bundy, Gold, Nason and Reed

These charts appear in "Steam Heating for Buildings", by William J. Baldwin, Member A.S.M.E. (Dead Man), Twelfth Edition, published 1891. I think this recent aquisition is the oldest Dead Men's Book in my collection.

Note that the "Column" radiator charts do not describe the newer (than 1891) cast-iron column-type rads like the American Peerless or Rococo, but rather circular pipe radiators specially designed to be installed around columns in buildings.

Dan, feel free to include these in the second edition of "E.D.R.". They'd fit right next to the Crane pipe radiator charts.

    And a couple old ads

from the same book, for the Gold and Nason rads. It looks like the Gold Compound Coil Direct Heater is actually what we now call a convector- possibly the first one brought to market?

  • I wonder...

if Mr. Baldwin is related to the Baldwins who built steam locomotives... Baldwin locomotives are still running in many parts of the world today.

Cool stuff you found there Steamy!
