to see the finished product!!! I find it interesting that the contractor had a ton of space for boiler piping and used none of it. The other funny thing is that they insulated the pipe...did they think this would solve all the problems they were having?

    Piping strategies to avoid...

This 4-way setup feeds a 6000SF residence using 5 pumps to 5 manifold locations. The "near boiler" piping is 1". 3/8"pex tubing was installed without layout or heatloss calcs. BTW, the former owner was an NBA Sonic Allstar. The funny thing is, I bid the house 7 years ago and wasn't the "low bidder"....Life has it's sweet endings sometimes..eh?? Talk about deja vu.
Several of the rooms heat poorly and a HW coil was added for supplemental heating in an air handler. The HW coil piping is fed prior to the 4 Way inlet and was piped 1n 1/2"pex. The HWcoil has little flow and the DHW indirect had no priority relay. There were no outdoor reset controls to modulate the 4way. The owner has chosen to replace with a Vitodens setup and radiant manifold repipe. We'll add Wirsbo flow meter manifolds and attempt to balance the system. I'll post the finished project in late July.

    Cha-Ching

Isn't it amazing that some people can't find the money to do it right initially, but they always manage to pay for it 2 times. It's good to know that Billy Bob is on the West Coast also (g). Must be a franchise or sumpin'!

    Ya got that right...

Maxxon "In-Floor" franchise. Bubba is alive and well in the NW. It's not necessarily the original owner's fault...he depended on the GC, who chose the low baller. We see this regularly.
