A book worth reading (and you can borrow it for free!) - Dan H.

John Hazen White before he passed away and it was one of the most special days of my career. Mr. White took Taco from a small company and grew it into an important part of the hydronics industry. I wanted to meet him and just spend an hour with him so that I would have a memory. He was gracious enough to arrange that. He gave me a gift of time.

We were at a party in Frankfurt with the Taco people during ISH week in 2001 when news arrived that Mr. White had passed. Grown men cried. He was loved, and he had a heck of a life.

Johnny White, who is at the Taco helm nowadays, commissioned a book about his Dad's life. It's called "Wind on the Sail - The Life and Times of John Hazen White." Johnny sent me a copy of the book for my library. It's a big, coffee table type of book, filled with great photos and lots of industry history. Mr. White did more than grow Taco during his years on earth. He was also a philanthropist, a champion sailor, a husband and father, and a real thorn in the sides of Rhode Island politicians. His story is one everybody should read.

I asked Johnny if he could make available to the people who visit this site a half-dozen copies of this book. He agreed and I appreciate that. We’re going to do it like a lending library. You can keep the book for a month. There’s no charge, other than the postage back to Taco once you’re done enjoying it. If you'd like to borrow a copy, please send an email to Clara Rogers at clarog@taco-hvac.com. She'll mail the book to you. When you're through, just mail it back so that someone else can enjoy it.

No charge, other than the return postage.

I think everyone that visits here should read this book. It's a true inspiration.

Thanks.
Retired and loving it.

How much to buy it? I'm awfully bad at returning good books (it's just so nice to have them in my library for future reference). And since it comes with such a high recomendation I'd probly cry when I had to send it back.

I didn't talk to him about that, Terry

but I'm sure Clara could find out. Drop her an email. It really is a wonderful book.

    I wouldn't mind buying one

it would occupy a space on the shelf between the Warren Webster and Richard Crane bios. They're good reads too!

    And for those who asked,

I checked and the book isn't for sale. You can borrow it for free. Do it. It's quite a book.
