I wanted to post a new thread thanking everyone that has helped me solve my Steam problems, especialy Steamhead. For those of you that havent been following my thread called Radiator Traps you may want to check it.
I added a Gorton #2 to my Dry Return. This has eliminated the water hammer I was getting. One other benefit I have found with it is every radiator in my house got pipping hot after 20 minutes from a cold system. This is something I never experienced during my first winter in this house. Most of the rads got warm during the winter never hot. I dont know how to guage how much difference it made in heating those radiators but I would venture to guess that they are 3 times hotter than they were before if not more. I dont think I can put a dollar amount on what this will save me.
These systems are like a puzzle and thanks to the Wall I just put a big piece in it. I just cant say enough. I beleive the dead men would be proud. Thanks again

btw I will be adding another vent to this and will replace that 4" nipple with a longer one when I get the other vent I know someone will notice :)

Sounds good. Thanks again for all of your help I cant beleive what a difference you have made. I enjoyed putting the puzzle together. I know I couldnt have done it with out your help. I just love this steam stuff I cant beleive how addicting it is.
Now if I could only find someone to show me the ropes I could see a possible career change in my future. The only problem with that would be starting all over with a new career and a ton of additional schooling. I guess I will have to leave it to you guys. Thanks again,
