What advice do you give?

What advice do you give to people who ask what they should do with their gas boilers (HW/STM) in the off season?
Turn off gas valve? Drain it? Fill it? Cover it?
Usually I tell people just to leave it alone, but at times it seems like some people just don't like that answer.

I like your answer
If your talking to a landlord who doesn't want it run in warmer ie above 60 weather selll him on a IO reset with warm weather cut off, keeps the odd tenant from getting heat on a cool summer morning. For the really safety focused with electronic ignition turning off the gas and power in the summer is fine. Good chance for you to ask probing questions, some people really don't know a boiler makes the hot water for the shower.0
