Hot Tub heating

I've used the tekmar 150 as set point controller, but how do you pipe and control a hot tub and make it as "safe" as possible from overheating? You must use a HX and the water on the tub side can be drained for cleaning. That's the way I have always drawn it up. But how do YOU do it? I don't know of a fail-safe device for this application. Is there anything better? Do you pump or zone valve? Always trying to improve.

I'd think
that a temp switch that would open the pilot sense circuit T/C or flame sense wire would be a redundant way to go. manuel reset would be required. Just brainstorming

HOT TUB HEATING
ON MY TUB I INSTALLED HX IN LINE WITH TUB PUMP.I HAVE TIMER ON PUMP FOR FILTRATION [6HRS ADAY].ALSO INSTALLED AQUASTAT IN PUMP LINE THAT CONTROLS SEPERATE CIRC ON BOILER PIPED INTO HX [AQUASTAT SET AT 105],WHEN TUB WANTS MORE TEMP CIRC TURNS ON! I BELIEVE IN THE K.I.S.S. THEORY,[KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID].HAVENT HAD TO HOT OR TO COLD TUB YET!0 -
High Limit
UL requires a high limit of 104 degrees. We sell/repair hot tubs. Most manufacturers strap a sensor on the heater manifold, and that opens and closes a relay. Others have one that fits in a thermowell. Let me know if I can get you something, or steer you in the right direction.0
