Dear All,
Anyone using the new RIDGID copper prep machine, it really looks like it could be a real time saver?! If so, does it work well? Is it worth the price? How much did you pay? Who has the best price? Thanks in advance!

Tool
I have been tempted to buy one. Price was about about $1000 as I remember.
I am reconsidering now. I wondered if the DeWalt carbide blade chop saw would do a quicker job of cutting, while leaving a burr free edge needing very little reaming as opposed to cutting with a rolling wheel pipe cutter. The fitting cleaning job could then be done with a brush in a cordless drill. Both of these tools could be bought for about one half the price of the Ridgid, and used for other jobs too. Having said that, I would be willing be buy one IF I can convince myself that it would work better and faster. I've never seen one close up. That would help me decide. Let me know what you find out. Kevin

I Love mine
Have had it for 6 months or so, and use it quite a bit. Plan on using it more this year on boiler installs.
I would say that not having to pick up different tools to cut, ream, and clean, but just run your pipe/fittings thru is worth the price. Labor just costs too much to not have one.

Copper Cutter
We have been using that machine for about 12-16 months now..We use it in our shop but am considering getting another one for our truck. Absolutely love it!! Plus my wrist doesn't hurt at the end of the day from using my regular copper cutter.!!

It's a must have !!!!
item to add to your tool list. Saves alot of time. We use it in the shop and take it on the job. Set it up on a folding metal saw horse to take to the job site for piping boilers. Saves the hands from clean the pipe both inside and out. We love ours
