Oil Furnace not starting ...

We have a pretty darn old Weil-McClain Oil Steam Furnace. One day we woke up to no heat. We checked the tanks and they seemed low and it was possible that we ran out of oil. So i got some oil and tried to turn on the furnace and the motor would run for about 10-15 seconds then shut off. The flame did not light. So we replaced the oil filter, the burner nozzle, and the electrode buss bars. Also bled air from the lines. Also tested the electrodes (transformer) with a voltmeter and it was fine (well it was sparking). At one point of time during this, it did light, but then not again. If anyone has any insight as to what else can be wrong we would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Nicki

your best bet is to call the oil co or a heating contractor to fix the problem its not a dyi repair

    No heat?

Nicki, As Ed said , you should call a service tech. How did you test transformer? a normal volt meter will not test a transformer. Electrodes need to be set "just right" or they will not work. If you keep replacing parts you are bound to replace the right one sooner or later, but it's cheaper to replace the right one the first time.John@Reliable

    Oil Burner not starting

Check that the auto water feed is bringing enough water into the glass. If the level is too low there is a manual button on the water feed. Press it and the boiler will turn on when it is at the appropriate level.
