Banging Steam Pipes

I recently purchased an older home (built in 1935) that has steam heat.

> time the steam heat comes up the pipes on the top floor are banging. The

If The...

...engineer held himself out to be competent to inspect a house with a steam heating system, then he should have been able to indentify any problems or shortcomings, and note them in his report.
