old copper in-slab system

system is approx 40 yrs old, getting ready for a boiler replacement & adding a zone...this type of system is evidently common around here (marin county, ca) according to alan forbes....the HO says she can feel hot/cold spots on the floor with bare/stocking'd feet...the system capacity/indoor comfort level is acceptable as is, but is there anyway to eliminate the hot & cold spots without tearing up the slab??

I suggest that you first make sure that the system is circulating through all of the circuits and that none are air bound. You might also time each curcuits ability to fill a 5 gallon pail, as this can give you an insight as to manifold adjustments to possibly equalize the flows which may intern equalize the floor panel temperatures.
We have used this approach quite successfully to maintain some very old copper radiant systems, some over 60 years old.
    Hope this helps.
