Emissions and Fuel savings

I would like to offer you some information about my product for oil-fired burners. The device installs inline prior to the nozzle of the burner. In the field we have 3rd party test results from the State of Delaware were we have shown over 7.5 percent fuel saving as measured on a flow meter and an increase of three percent effcentcy on an IC 9.4mm BTU MEG 54.

> There was also 16% reduction in NOx and upwards of 40% reduction in other organic materials. It is my believe that the fuel savings component is the selling point unless the client needs to reduce emissions for CAA consideration.

All of our sales have, to this point, been on diesel engines in trucks. And we have lab results showing increased horsepower and fuel savings on the trucks as well as a reduction in opacity.

    Mike, that's an interesting idea

but it may be more difficult to measure long-term efficiency gains on an oil-fired heating system since the proper controlled conditions may be harder to maintain.

On the other hand, with current digital test equipment as used in the field, it's simple to tune a stock oil burner, then change something and watch the readings appear right there on the screen. This would result in a "snapshot" of what's going on in the boiler at that moment in time.

In order for such a device to be accepted, it must show a noticeable gain in efficiency relative to its cost, be simple to install and maintain, and dead-reliable. It must also be acceptable to Code authorities, which may mean getting approval from UL and other sanctioning agencies. How about telling us more about your equipment, and maybe putting a few units out in the field for evaluation?

    What exactly

Is this? Or is it so esoteric you can't discuss it here??

No, it is not that esoteric to me. The product is the Rentar Fuel Catalyst. The patented catalyst cracks open the fuel molecule by passing through it prior to the nozzle. The conditioned fuel is then burned more efficiently because oxygen has been able to reach the interior carbon atoms in the fuel.

A good analogy would be placing a lump of coal in a flash furnace for thirty seconds. When you take the coal out of the furnace the outside of the coal would be crusted where the carbon was able to attach with oxygen to create the burn, but the inside of the coal would be unaffected.

If you broke the lump of coal up prior to placing it in the furnace, you would burn more of the coal. This in essence is what the Rentar does with Nos. 2, 4 and six fuel. So you raise the efficiency of the fuel you are burning and the burner. And you require less fuel to get to the required temperature needed.
