On Decemcer 30, 2002, the NJ Department of Community Affairs put out a new regulation requiring carbon monoxide detectors in all residences. The 60-day comment period expired in early March, so now this regulation is in effect. All NJ contractors should be aware of of this opportunity to provide this important protective equipment on every job they do. Copies of the regulations can be obtained by calling E.J. Miranda at the NJ Department of Community Affairs at 609-292-6055. The regulation can be found in NJAC 23-3.20 & 5.23-6 and in the UFC 5/70-2.9.
