I knew what you meant ...as I said ergomax is fine just a bit overkill for most jobs...A superstor ultra 45 would be just fine or A 60gal if you never want to have a problem and put it on priority. Some say that cold starts and a blessing and a curse...Sounds like a Taco PC700 w/ the relay package(SR 504 exp) would be nice.kpc

    indirect/reverse indirect

What is the perfomance differance & what would be the application for a reverse indirect w.heater? I herd someone raving over the ergomax which I believe is a reverse,I currently have a 50 gal storage tank (only 3 years old , came with the house)I can't complain it does fine, but being a plumber & reading the wall I'm eager to do some changes down there!

    I guess the....

question to ask is ...what are your needs.Just two taking showers or a few teenagers... If your set up is working do you need to change it...Ergomax is nice but pricey. Do you need a lot of hot H2O...What do you have now?(Gas ,electric, superstor contender?) Do you really want to pull it out now, or wait until it breaks then make the change. What is the payback? food for thought...kpc

    You can call it a

reverse indirect (that's a new one on me), but it's still just an oversized, free-standing, multi-coil tankless.
I've had an Everhot EA in my house for 5 years and wouldn't have anything else, FACT!
Save yourself some money, buy the old reliable, real thing.

    indirect

I thought this would be a straight answer, by reverse indirect I mean the potable water goes through the coil & boiler water surrounds it opposite of an indirect which sends the boiler water through the coil(I didn't come up with the term reverse indirect I read it)I'm not sure if the ergomax is one of these.Just for the record I have an oil fired weil-mclain gold 151,000 -net131,000 4 sec.6people ,3baths . I plan on doing some heat work in the house so I'm thinking of making it a cold start & puting in an indirect, the house is 2500 sq ft & will wind up with 4 zones. As I said before the storage tank working off the coil does the job but I think cold start with outdoor setback would save me some oil!So if I do this set up I'm shopping for an indirect.
