the number Bill gave,I haven't had any new leakers. I started using them because you could sweat them in,less fittings to leak(go figure).Wouldn't be afraid to use them.

    Sparco powervent leakers

Is anyone else plagued with powervent microbubblers leaking all over your nice work. They have rusted more jobs than I know about. I went on two different systems yesterday that had rusted expansion tanks and rusted boiler jackets. You spend for the supposed better air elimination and you get a shower.

    yep

Same as you,go back a year later and the jacket and piping looked like a bar room bathroom.I went right to Sparco(lucky for me it's about 5 minutes from home) They gave us a half a dozen repair kits. They said the wrong o-rings were installed at the factory. The kits have new rings and float assembly in it.No new leakers. Good luck Dave

    Sparco Power Vent

I had problems with these things 6-7 years ago. Took all of them off after screwing with them for 3-4 years.

    Sparco powervents

these are the most leak prone vents made. The plastic insert on the vent cracks and then you have your leaks. Cost me untold grief and lost xpansion tanks. Finally replaced the six I had installed. Go with SPIROVENT (THE BEST) Jno

    Sparco leakers

Here's the story. On some units made in 2000, our suppliers sent O rings that were too thick. When the vents were tightened down, the O rings put too much pressure on the plastic, and it cracked and leaked. Any PowerVent with a 2001-on date code is ok. Any 2000 date coded PowerVent can be repaired by using an O ring kit part number PV001RP. Technical help can be obatined from Honeywell for these products at 1 800 247 2919, when prompted, select tech service. This is available during normal business hours. I hope this clears up any more problems.

    Rep. comes through

Thank you very much for your help Bill. The honeywell rep. stopped in with the parts today. We all have problems, what counts is how we respond. Sparco Honeywell has proven to be a go to company in my book. Thanx again.
