AL29C vent connection failures

seeing problems with the gasketed fittings? This was installed in 1999 on a Lochinvar boiler. The gasket rings crumble like plaster. I chose to replace the entire vent with the good old messy RTV silicone fittings.
Here I thought we were "out of the woods" after the original speced high temperature plastic vent materials disappered from the scene. Guess not!

ones I've been using have a orangish color seal. Seem pretty pliable so far..could it be that the mfr's have changed seal composition?

Did you do a combustion test ? how hot was that flue??? Maybe overfired and cooked the gaskets?0 -
