Slab Rough-ins

I have a customer who is building a small addition on his home and needs 3/4" copper lines roughed-in the slab for baseboard heat.(He would go for radiant-I tried). My question is would I be better off using rolled "K" copper with insulation rather than "L"? Also which insulation is better for this application (Armaflex or Thermocell)? Thanks

    Call me crazy

    When I'm forced into putting copper in a slab I always sleeve it with pvc. Typically I sleeve 3/4 with 2" and I use type L. I insulate it as I go and pray for no leaks(I usually do the soldering myself). I use armorflex because it is a lot more flexable then thermoflex and has a higher temp range. Armorflex, according to technical data, is good to 221F wherease thermoflex is good to 194F. Good luck!

    Why copper?

    Do yourself and your customer a huge favor and use Pex or PAP. Dan
