Lennox Complete heat

Looked at an existing system...all radiant utilizing a Lennox CompleteHeat as its source. On the original install, the owner complained to the original contractor about the drinking water tasting funny. Contractor came back and installed an Indirect tank. I have been looking for Lennox literature with there reccommended way to pipe radiant. Not sure what we will do with the system yet. Found that the radiant side was originally open to the dhw. To a degree, it still is, even with the indirect. Does anyone have any schematics for piping radiant with one of these CompleteHeats? Thanks in advance

    Here ya go.

You will see that the hookup is pretty straight forward, you just need the proper size pump to circulate and the listed accesory kits to run the pump on a timed basis when the radiant is not being used.

    New CompleteHeat

Just for some additional info. Lennox is no longer making that version of the CompleteHeat. They had a problem with the tanks holding up. Make sure the system has a pressure reducing valve on the cold inlet and also a domestic rated expansion tank. These items are factory reccommended. They have just started selling the Polaris with the CompleteHeat label on it. (a few differences) I am going to class on them on April first if you have any questions I'll ask them.

Thank you for your input....I think I am leaning towards just pulling it out and replacing it with something better.

    When did you hear this?

You mean after ten years of trying to design and redesign and redesign and etc., etc., etc., something that still doesn't work right, Lennox is giving up and going with something else. Hmmmm, what a surprise. I'll have to check into that one, as I haven't heard about that one yet.

I should have said this earlier,

I think you will be much better off. These things have been going thru redesign and updates for 10 years now, and they still have problems with them. I just had a three month old unit that had a fracture of the SS tank at the burner, which caused water to seep into the burner chamber and damage everthing. THREE MONTHS OLD, and installed by the book. Have had other units where the eyelets would leak at the welds, only four to six years old. Plus I would think the chance of contaminating the domestic water due to stagnate water sitting in the radiant would be very high, even with the pump cycle timer feature.

Sorry I didn't say this earlier, I just posted the sheet real quick before going to bed. I've got to agree, rip it out!

    Dealer Meeting

I saw it at our annual Baltimore dealership meeting. Once they run out of the tanks that are in stock you will get the new model or you can get a 90+ furnace and water heater. This was my understanding at least. They indroduced the new CompleteHeat along with the new 19 Seer 2 stage heat pumps / AC units with scroll compressors that use R410A. Many other new products were also introduced.

    Thanks, Eddie

My employer has not been a Lennox dealer for about four years now, so I don't hear about this stuff anymore. Thanks for the update. I'll have to check into this more.
