Hi Guys!!

What's the best way to install hardwood over a slab.
1. Overlay it with a plywood?
2. Sleepers?

The HO wants wood planking so a pugo type product is out..

Thanks :-)

Wood floors on concrete suffer from two major moisture problems: 1. concrete porosity; 2. condensation. The first supplies ground moisture to the wood as vapor that warps and cups the planks. If the slab does not have a good vapor barrier, don't do it.
A ground-cooled slab will condense summertime humidity on its surface. The condensate will find its way into the wood with the above results. Pressure-treated sleepers help, but do not prevent the problem. Air conditioning helps remove humidity. You must minimize both problems, not just one or the other.
