I agree with John T-Drill brand may be tops. Properly maintained they should last many many years.

If you are doing 1" and smaller on an intermitent basis REMS and a few others make a smaller simpler version for less bucks.

My first T-Drill payed for itself on the first job, a condo project we plumbed and heated. As John stated, watch for deals on used ones. Be sure to check the history, and origin, of the tool however should you need warranty work.
