I am redoing a basement room and I have a loop system. The pipes come from the top of the tank and go through the floor in to the bottom of the upstairs rooms. There are baseboards all around the first floor of the house. There is a loop that goes through the basement. The line run along the basement ceiling and extend down to about 6 feet off of the floor and then go back to the ceiling after the fin section. I don't like them in the middle of the wall. I would like to extend this loop to the floor (below the level of the tank) and put baseboard heaters in the basement. If I run the pipes to the floor and back to the ceiling before proceeding, will it work? Not sure I explained it correctly.

At first glance that should work
but I wonder why the fin-tube was mounted that high? Maybe there was a water problem in the basement? And is that a regular series-loop system or a Monoflo system?
I think you need a Wethead to come look at this. Go to the Find a Contractor page of this site to locate one near you.
