Piping Diagrams

Member Posts: 21
A plumber who has been doing hydronic heating for over 40 years told me my piping diagrams are all wet. I' have both my diagram and his attached. His diagram is "Dan's" - no relation to Dan H! - Isn't he pumping in series? And with all 3-way valves he is saying eliminate the common pipe? Anybody's input would be much appreciated.

Which piping arrangement
Hi,
The flow and return should be linked at the top of the diagram up were the jriyle valve is not at the bottom so it draws the hot water straight from the primaryflow/returm header,it will work but you will have a longer lead time to get the heater hot .
By the way whats a jriyle valve ? looks like a non return to me.
Without zone valves you could get natural circulation to the heaters too when the pumps are not pumping.0
