consists of five 3/4" Advantech panels. Under them I have A Watts rubber staple up, Joist bay/ suspended tube, Pex in ThermoFin aluminum transfer plates, Copper in ThermoFin plates, and Warmboard. All installed and insulated to manufactures specs, with R-19.

Using just my hands, stop watch, and heat gun the clear winner may surprise you!

Tomorrow I have rented a $75,000.00 Infared Camera (with operator) These things are wild if you have ever seen the pictures :)

I'll post a teaser soon, but you will have to attend the RPA convention in Sacramento (May 7-10) to see the final results!

I hope to shed some light, and heat, on this controversial subject. Hard to deny what you see through one of these infared cameras.

Look foward to meeting you and seeing the results at Sacramento in May hot rod,
I really enjoy the discussion about this subject and am curious about all the installation method results.

  • I'm not positive...

but I think Ken Secor had a thing or two to say about the thermal conductivity properties of plastic versus copper...

I'm probably mistaken though, I think he only spoke up about flat rate and things like that. ;-)

Anyway, looking forward to your findings HR. Maybe you can get the video tapes they'll be making with the camera turned into MPEG or something we can share on the internet??

How's Crashin' Max doing these days? Like you say, with motorcycles, its not a question of if, but when. Glad he didn't get hurt any worse than he did. Sometimes it takes reality to jump up and slap you in the face when you're that young to convince you that you AREN'T invincible.

    It worked for me!
