to rent the unit? around here they can cost $500.00 a day and sometimes you also have to rent a gen. for power! Know of one in Jan. that cost over $ 5000.00 aweek for a apartment building. I would be careful, What about temp. welding repair until heat isn't needed? if possiable. John@Reliable

HELP 'Rental Boilers \"r\" us' phone number

I just took on the service contract for Beautiful my home town, Ohio, and the old boiler has gone from leaking to flooding in less than a week. I have a million btu hot water system by design in the late '60s, I only need half of that on the coldest day here since the boiler no longer handles the fire department, just city hall.

I saw the insurance company boiler inspection sticker on the unit, got the insurance agent to file a claim through the director of public service. I meet with the insurance company field engineer and he wants to know what day to come back to watch me disassemble the boiler so he can "see" what caused the failure. Thats OK, but its winter and the police department and jail are in the building.

When the boiler comes apart it will become a big pile of scrap cast iron. I need city council action to approve a new unit. I am in a catch 22 situation. take it appart, no heat, insurance will or won't cover the claim, no heat. The insurance company can call me out on delay of game if I do not disassemble the unit for their inspection so I allowed a bad situation to get worse and they can not see the cause, no claim.

There is a clause that they will/may cover temporary heat, like a spot cooler, but a boiler. I need one.

    HELP

I'm on it, right when I'm done.

    Thanks Mark.

Been a busy week, a little brain dead due to soaking it in too much leaking hot water.

    boiler rental

I am not sure, it is not Lake Erie Indoor Air Services, my customer is the city and the service director is my boss, I have since the post explained to the service director someone must stand by to heat the building. I was getting my nose into areas in which it did not belong.

I have a contract to service the equipment quartely, then recomend and quote repairs. The city can either accept or reject my recomendation.

I got into a situation where the insurance company "feild engineer" wanted to disassemble a forty year old cast iron boiler to see what caused the leak.

If rental boilers 'r' us is needed on 03-05-03, is now up to the director of public services.

See the "Murph SOS" post on the ethical way to do business.

I for one can and will type contract language, as needed, but preffered an intelegent verble conversation and a hand shake. Even a "high five" will do.

Sorry to air my dirty linen and willingnesss to go above and beyond.

That is how I am and how I do business.

Thanks to all that responded and helped me get this done.
