Tankless Gas Water Heater

Have a customer that wants to replace his conventional 50-gallon gas water heater with a tankless heater. He just added a large whirlpool tub to his residence with three occupants...no hot water when new tub is filled.

No familiar with TAKAGI, but would the Models T-K1 or T-K2 be a solution? Would you have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

    Takagi or Rinnai

Would most likely be the best way to go. You need to properly size the units though. Questions like 1. What will be the lowest incoming (cold) water temperatures? 2. What will be the highest outgoing (hot) water temperature? 3. What will be the largest (in G.P.M.) flow through the units? Once you determine these you will be able to determine which unit is best. Be sure to follow all the manufacturer's instruction in how to pipe the system and you will be O.K. Good luck.

Heatermon gave you some sound advice. As for sizing, I like to figure total hot water demand at the lowest possible incoming water temp for your area. That way you're sure not to undersize the unit. I realize this drives the price up substancially, but my experience is that the people who want these units are more interested in satisfying their hot water demands than they are in price.
