radiator does not heat

I have a radiator that will not heat up, the steam travels to the valve and rarely goes beyond. The pipes are insulated, and it is the second last radiator in terms of distance for the steam to travel from the furnace yet the last radiator consistently heats up. It has a new bleeder valve that is open completely. Do I need to remove this radiator and clean it, if so, how do I go about doing so. I am just a homeowner, not a professional. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If your system
is 1-pipe steam, you may have to replace the radiator vent (not venting); if it is a 2-pipe system, check your steam trap (stuck closed, not allowing air through).

Cleaning an old radiator
How does one go about cleaning an old radiator, after it has been removed? A high powered vacuum? blow it out with an air compressor? run water through it? Do I need to cap off the pipe leading to the valve or will closing the valve do the trick an order to avoid any spillage upon removal?0 -
Steamhead, Mark Hunt
or any of you other steam guys out there: can you give this guy a hand?
He should probably hire a professional, but sounds as though he wants to get his hands dirty. Just caution him.
Best wishes,
Alan

I am just trying to cut back on costs and would like to try and solve my problem on my own if it is possible, I am not averse to getting my hands dirty.0
