Old Timers

in a loft building on Prince st. in SOHO. New York City.

These pupies were made by AA Griffin and patented in 1874 and 1884. This building went up in 1885 and has two of these beauties left.

They were installed on a two pipe vapor air vent system. Thge heating system was modified over the years and for nearly 50 years banged like a ---------.

I was called in to resolve the condition and found that all the banging in the building was caused by workmen that added or removed or relocated radiators from the original locations.
