Where do you test for comb. eff. on cat.1 furnaces withdraft inducer fan and all type B vent.Even though this is negative pressure draft is it possible to have a 0 or even positive pressure draft reading if the reading is taken at a point right on discharge side of draft inducer fan.Can you drill hole in type B vent then seal back up with screw.Thanks.

Drilling B vent
We have letters on file from three B-vent manufacturers allowing the drilling of B-vent for the purpose of CO, draft and combustion testing. To seal the hole, they recommend high temp rtv.

You beat me
to him Rudy, but youve got the back up.
All b-vent flues must have a draft. I am sure there are folks here who remember the great sealed plastic flue pipe adventure and then the class action laws suits.
B-vents gotta draft.
