gripes...

My old man just installed two new McDonnell Miller 47-2 combos this week. Has been using these models since I was born. Both homeowners complain about the excessive earthquake noise at night when the feeder is on. Winds up the manufacturer started making new cartriges for the water feeder which cannot handle the increase in water pressure at night. The water pressure in the area is not excessive to begin with:(+/- 40 psi)
The technical rep., a gentlemen notwithstanding, tells him to:
install replacement cartriges he will mail which may or may not work.
install pressure regulators upstream of the feeder. Progress, eh?
More gripes:
-I am a big fan of the Burnham "Baseray" cast iron baseboard. But WHY cant they make decent end caps?!
I just had to weld extra mounting ears to the cap just to get it to fasten to the wall in a professional way. And how hard is it to make a hinged cover that snaps shut?
Good. Now I feel better...
