Like I was saying before:
If I'm not doing anything, I might be able to provide a lift from midway to your Rosemont hotel. Friday I'm going to the WM tour so Thurs or Friday evening would be do-able.
E-mail me if interested.

    Been a while

since I got to hang with Dennis Wood of Danfoss. Looking forward to doing that at Wetstock 2 on March 15!

We're firming up the side trip to Weil-McLain on Friday, March 14. They've asked me for the final list so that they can send the formal invitations to this very interesting day. I've been away all week so I'll be putting that together on Monday.

We have just a few seats available on the bus. If you're attending W2 and would like to join us on Friday, let me know and I'll make sure you're included. But please decide quickly. When they're gone, that's it.

If you've never seen boilers made, this is your chance. Very few in our industry ever get this behind-the-scenes view of a major American boiler manufacturer. I'm especially looking forward to the Q&A session with their engineers. These are people you don't get to meet every day.

My thanks to Weil-McLain for their time, their interest in our Gathering, and their participation on March 15. Thanks for the support, the education, and for all that you do for us.

  • Got my tickets...

and reserved my room. Just wondering, what's it going to cost me to get from Midway airport to O'hare? Should I rent a car?

The wife is from Chicago and said she could "train it" from O'hare to downtown to visit with her friends.

Whaddya think, take a cab or rent a car...

Couldn't get a decent priced flight into O'hare from Denver or I wouldn't be asking this silly question.

    TIA!

    With a couple of transfers,

and if you're not in a hurry, you could take the CTA all the way from Midway to O'Hare. Here's the map:

    http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/systemmaps.html

The hotel is 1-1/2 miles from O'Hare and there's a 24-hour hotel shuttle. A cab between airports would be expensive. You can get a good deal on a car out of Midway. There are some sidestreets to navigate before you get to the highway when you leave Midway. It's sort of like Wrigley Field, right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It's a bit startling when you land there for the first time.

Looking forward to seeing you, pal.

    You bet.

Can't take any photos, though. No cameras allowed in the plant and that's totally understandable.

Wish you could be with us. Heck of an opportunity!

    By the way,

for those of you who are coming, you're going to be with people from New York, New England, West Coast, the Rockies, the South, LOTS from the Midwest (MidWEsT!). We're coming together from all over the place and it's going to be one big beautiful exchange of know-how and experiences and good times in Sweet Home Chicago on Saturday, March 15.

I really like what happens at these Gatherings. And Chicago is one of my favorite places in all the world. Great, great people. And good times!

    See you soon, Wetheads.

  • Thanks Howard...

Sorry, was asleep at the switch. The wife has notified me that we WILL be needing a rental car. Guess she has an alternate shopping plan in mind (as usual). She's from Chicago originally, so she'll be my tour guide.

Thanks again for the offer. I'll see you at the function(s).
