Tough day Timmie.
My wife has a girl in accounting who fought with her friend last night and they canceled their trip to the club.
Peace to the families.0 -
My 21 year old son
was planning on attending that concert. Change of plans at the last minute had him working last night instead. I woke up in a hotel room in upstate NY this morning at 6:00 am and my heart dropped. Tried calling home to see if he had gone and no one answered. Finally got my wife at 7:45 am and was informed that he was indeed safe and sound and on his way to college. Someone had unplugged one of our phones and she couldn't hear it ring. Whew! I'm still in NY but I'm back down to a more reasonable dose of Tums now. I sincerely hope that none of his friends perished in that fire though.

My nephew
My nephew would have been at the show if it was on friday.
He changed his mind because it was on a work night. This kid would have been right up fornt having worked in the past with the radio station that was promoting this event. He knows all the people involved with radio staff. He is also one of those kids that would have been helping others. When i heard the news I called his mom right away and she was so happy that he made the resonasable choice to stay home so he could make it work the next day. THANK GOD
The sad part I sure he has lost some friends to this. Being from this small state I sure we will all know somebody that lost somebody. My thoughts and prayers go out to all on this sad day0 -

Second club tragedy in a week
First Chicago, now Rhode Island. Somebody has got to stop thinking about the MONEY these events make and start seriously thinking about saftey of the patrons paying good money for entertainment, and to go home in one piece after the show.
That being said, my heart goes out to the friends and family's of those lost in both tragedies.

My son's friends
apparently got out of the fire OK. Two were out with no injuries whatsoever. The other three had minor burns and smoke inhalation and drove themselves to the hospital. For this I am thankful. My heart goes out to the families of the 96 that weren't so lucky. I heading back home tomorrow morning after a full week on the road. Rhode Island will be a different place when I return.
