Boiler Return Trap

Options
check valves below the the boiler return trap. If the check valves leak water gets pushed out of the boiler. When the water level drops down the low water cut off will shut off the burner.

On real cold days if the check valves leak the boiler will not reach the proper operating pressure during the duty cycles. The boiler will cycle more fequantly and less steam will be produced.

It just does not appear to be working. All piping around it are hot and can not be held, yet the entire trap is cool to the touch. The system is working right now but every now and again has its moments and we can not get heat no matter what we do.

    Thanks

Many thanks, I believe the check valves are working. I know they were good a couple of months ago. I will recheck them.

AT one point I had the boiler cycling on/off all day and night and no heat on any of the rads.
