MP Superstore in Brooklyn New York question

Just curious if anyone here has done business with or even heard of the MP Superstore, 3126 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11229 - www.mpsuperstore.com? I'm asking because I'm looking at getting a Sony Mavica CD camera Model MVC-CD400 Camera, which is listing for $699.99 at most stores but MP Superstore is selling them for $564.99, a $135 savings! If anyone has had or heard good or bad things from this store, please let me know.

I havent heard of that store, but before you buy, make sure the camera has a USA factory warrantee. Many of the camera stores in NYC sell "gray market" stuff with a so called "international warrantee" which is good anywhere in the world except the USA. If it breaks, you are out of luck.

    Thanks, Mike

That's good advice. It does say on the web page that USA warranty IS included.

I have no experience with MP Superstore. However, a quick look at shopper.cnet.com shows that the same camera is available for slightly *less* from other NY vendors. You may want to check if any of them make you more comfortable.

    Thanks, Frank

shopper.com gave me some more good info to look at. ePhotostore seems to have a good deal too. I'm not uncomfortable with MP, just wondering if I should be.

    B & H photo / video

Being a New Yorker the only place to shop for photo and video is B & H Photo Video.

Check them out at this link.

They should meet or beat any price, and if you buy from them specify that you want merchandise with USA warranty.

    Good luck.

    Bobby

The camera I want is listed for $699 and I don't see any extended warranty/insurance avilable, which I am considering since I will be using this for work.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
