    \"Snow Accumulations of Historic Proportions\"

are predicted for the DC Metro Area. We only need to get 28" to beat the Blizzard of 1922! Wayco Wayne, and Steamhead, Can I get a witness?

Church is cancelled. The kids are on the pull-out couch watching whatever, and I'm getting ready to do my short-order cook routine. Sort of a Norman Rockwell scene.

    home work

I'm painting! After 9 years, it's time to begin repainting. Starting with Mike's bathroom - found mold growing in the corners (he has not been using the exhaust fan when showering). Gave the mold a bath in chlorox first & added bacteriacidal chemical additive to the paint. Gonna give a second decorative "rag rolling" finish coat - just for fun. Same thing at the breakfast bar (no mold there though) where lots of scuff marks had found a home.

    Hey Frank!

Last time it snowed like this, we had to park on the streets that had been plowed & walk to the jobs in areas still awaiting the overworked snow plow drivers. Damn city gave us a bunch of parking tickets too! What in the heck did they think a well marked PHVAC truck was doing parked where it could be with a sign on the dash "Working on Emergency No Heat Call".

    Looking forward to tomorrow's tickets(G).

    They call it

    "generating revenue".

Still coming down hard here. I just talked to Rick and he says we probably won't open tomorrow, unless someone calls with an emergency. None of the trucks are 4X4!

P.S. Mid-Coast guys, Friday before last , the weather folks called for 2-4" in our area . Measured 11 1/2 " in the back yard that afternoon . I shared your pain , except the parking tickets PAH .

It's rained here most of the day and the temps have been in the mid to high 30's.

Depending on who you listen to, 9" to 14". I am 15 mi. south in MD. 9" here. The weather weenies are predicting 12" to 24", more, or less. That is equivalent to a 10 kiloton nuke here.

50 degrees Thursday. That should take care of the problem.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful.......

Just finished shoveling - again(G). Just back from digging out the neighbors (Mom & Dad)! Had to chop ice off the back porch so Dad could get to his bird feeder & dig a tunnel to the old springhouse where he keeps the bird seed - don't forget to put something out for our little friends in this blizzard.

This is a good old fashioned snow, not the whimpy stuff we've been getting. March of 64 we got 3' overnight! Power was off for most of two weeks. No school for a very long time(G). We loved it. Snow drifts more than 10' high.

Installed my transfer switch gear last week. I'm ready for a power loss this time!

    The snow

At least 12" here in southern Maryland and still coming down. Hard to get exact measurement due to drifts. I heard on the news the Govenor has said there will be a $1,000.00 fine for being on state roads tonight. We are now holding all calls till the AM.

    Historic Snow Fall

    Here's one for you,December 29, 2001 I am in Florida with
my family visiting my mother everthing was great. My cell
phone rings and its my buddy calling me to tell me that we
got hit with a snow storm so intense that in the are where
my shop is was hit with 7 FEET of snow in 24 hours and part
of my shop 80x26 had calapsed. He was up on the rest of the building with 2 8hp snow blowers and some hired help
to clear the snow off so the main part of the building didnt go. I'm sure you must have seen the way we got hit here in Buffalo, it was on the national news.
Here's the best part, my insurance for the building didnt cover this type of loss so it was 35K out of pocket and a sick feeling for a long time.
I learned a couple thing from this, one is that a true
friend who comes to your aid is priceless. Two, have your lawyer read all the fine print for you before you sign on the dotted line. Three, make it quite clear to your Ins agent that the package that he puts together for you better cover all your needs because if you can't get it out of the Ins company, your going to get it out of him PERSONALLY! That way you will get what you need. Can't wait till spring .
