I would like to give you quick information about the Trinity boiler from NY Thermal. It has been introduce in our Quebec, Canada market 1 year ago with a real low price. Big new 2 weeks ago because The Gaz company pulled out the Trinity boiler out of their programm and the distributor stopped to sale the boiler. Too many return on the job for the boiler after installation...
Better pay more for a reliable condensing boiler

What are the problems?
I've put in 2 now with no problems. I think it is a good boiler installed correctly. Correctly is the key word. I've seen some of the work of our local gas company. Not always but from what I've seen here, they get the rejects who can't make it with local contractors and with limited experience, land a job at the gas company.

I can tell you that the installation of the heating side (hot water radiators) went off without a hitch. Getting the indirect going though, took some work. The installer liked the simplicity of the system but found that the instructions didn't answer all the questions he had about a first time install. In the end, he solved the problem we were having (the boiler was knocking from producing steam during the calls for dhw) by changing the Taco circulating pump to a larger size (he originally used the same size circulating pump for both zones). That did the trick and (knock wood), it as worked flawlessly since then.0 -

How long have the two units you put in been in service?
Are you also using them for domestic water production?

More details please
I've installed quite a few. Some were hard starters, mostly learning curve on what the boiler required. The paper work that comes with the Trinity is sketchy but once you're in and running we're finding them very reliable. They are picky about their venting and picky about flow rates - no short cuts there and our personal results are all positive. DHW production from the Sentry control does require an "extra" hi limit to avoid the ER5 coding out. Overall we find them a great value - longevity will be the next test..... Dan
