Dan, I can't wait to crack more than a few cold ones on that porch....Steamhead...I was hopin' you'd ask about the double venting....after initial start up I realized that these were laggin a bit behind the others...even after putting in a Gorton D....one of the baby bundy's had two tappings so....I added another D and what a great response...then I did the baby bundy's twin ..also in Monika's room....now they get hot quicker and stay hot longer.....Did ya see what i did on the main vents?????Remember I have 2 1/2" mains ...as you recommened...alotta air to vent, right? So on initial start up, it was taking a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes just to get both mains hot at the end . One was much slower than the other too - as Dan says' the geographic location has little to do with the travels of steam....anyway...I added two Gorton #2s on the one main...and three on the slow one (Noel cracked up when I told him...now you'll know why they call me Mad Dog)...but let me tell YOU!!! I now get hot steam to the ends of both mains in 15 minute and that is from an ICE COLD start with boiler down for many hours. One of my plumbers said "Your nuts, boss....those gortons are 50 bucks a pop...and you used 5 in the basement and one in the attic!!!!!!" Yes, grasshopper, I replied, and i will make that back in the first year with the fuel savings....Mad Dog
