Hey, Hot Rod

Some time ago you posted a picture of a valve you use on injection systems in place of a globe valve to throttle the injection pump. It had a flow meter and a screw adjustment. I have looked high and low for that valve through my suppliers. No luck. I thought it was made by Watts. Can't find it in their catalog. Couls you tell me who made that valve? Maybe a part number? Thanks, Gary Jansen

    Circuit setter

Why not try a Circuit setter, this valve works like a ball valve and has markings on it in percentages from full open to close. This valve was made for this purpose, to show resistance against a circulator to better match its pump curve for the given situation.

    Some choices

The 1" is from Watts Radiant, although they only show a 1" in IP connection. The small one is a Dahl. It comes on the cute Danfoss ZCP panels, for zone balance.

Notice the shape of the valve mechanism. Much easier to get a fine control, and better fluid flow than a ball valve type of circuit setter. A partially closed ball valve presents a sharp edge to the fluid path.

Ground sourse pump and dump installers use PVC ball valves around here. They get 3-4 years before the ball wears out of them. Ah, but they are cheap!

Thanks, Hot Rod, I've been looking for that valve for some
time for a better alternative than the CS.
