WITHOUT getting into the whole chimney vs power vent thing,
is it unusual for a power vent to be excluded from a service contract? A customer called their oil company because he smelled fumes. Turns out it was a simple relay that was bad not allowing the post purge to happen. The tech told the customer to rip the thing out and run a chimney instead of fixing the venter. Powere vents are not covered under his service contract.
Isn't a power vent considered part of the "system" in which he has a contract on? What difference does it make whether a
burner motor goes bad or a vent motor goes bad? The cost factor to repair either is similar.(at least in my opinion it is)
Any opinions on this?
