benifits to going steam to hot water?

I'm doing a bid right now on a steam boiler replacement in a residential home. Is there any benies in convertering to hot water? Let me know what you think.

    There are many bennies, the bigget being a much quieter, more even heat in most cases. If you know what your doing with steam the existing system will work just great. The cost of the job will probably triple at least.

    Unless you intend on removing all of the piping and radiators and starting anew, stay steam. Nothing wrong with a good operating steam system. There is way too much labor involved in just tring to see if the radiators can be converted to make worthwhile. Checking to see if they will hold 30+ psi of water, flushing all of the debris, drilling and tapping each one for a vent, adding a return pipe and trying to clean the main involves as much labor as removing the old system and installing all new components.

    That is, unless you only charge $40 per hr.! ;-0

    steam systems are much easier, and less expensive, to fix than convert.
