I was on a steam call today and i noticed a strap on aquastat on a return pipe about 20 feet away from the boiler. It was set at 100*, what is the purpose of it?
Thanks, From Jack.

aquastat
That is a common method of starting the cycle time for a Heat Timer control. In theory, when the condensate returns to the aquastat, all of the radiators are heated up. Basically, it is an indoor sensor.0
