looking at giving an estimate on replacing 6 rheem roof top units, unfourtunatly all the specification tags were weathered and unreadable. my question is there any other way to determine model numbers on these units.
thanks, jim f. tri-city heating and cooling. the units measure 55 x 58.

    Jim,

Try getting the numbers off of the compressor(s) and cross referencing. Usually the compressors will have the numbers on a stamped steel plate that is easier to read. -DF

    Check in the electrical baoxes....

Often the wiring schematics or other stickers inside the units will have model #'s on them.

Also... if you are replacing old units.... check into Thycurb... they are a Co. that will make a transistion curb
that you can set on the old curb to adapt it to the new unit, saving you the mess of tearing up the roof and installing new curbs..... makes changing the units a piece of cake!!!

    Besides

basing size of new ones on the size of the old one, also look at the space served. We replaced 4 units with shiny new Rheems last summer. Customer provided units, country club worked out deal with member who is a wholesaler. Size based on existing. 1 was so grossly oversized it was pathetic. We used Thy Curbs as mentioned, worked out great. Nice units too.
