\"BE\" a BTU

Is back!

My apology for the extremely graphic link I made last week to the decapitation in Atlanta. After my mother's accident the week before Wetstock II and death late last week I was rather morose and dreaming of death instead of boilers and radiators.

Mom was an extreme polio victim of the 1940s and had many extreme, experimental surgeries in the 40s, 50s and 60s.

The desire was palpable when I asked her lead physician, "Is her body unique enough to be in a museum?"

In a fitting end to an existence that would have made many give up the drive to live MANY years before, her body (or at least skeleton) will be preserved.

I sincerely believe that by better understanding how the human body adapts to the extreme, that greater knowledge of the "norm" is achieved. Perhaps it was just said for comfort, but about the best nurse I have ever met told me, "Studying your mom's body may very well affect the choices made by a very gifted doctor."
