SUMMER WINTER OIL BOILER NOISE

i am currently looking to replace my 35 year old summer winter oil boiler and my oil company has told me that the new models run about as loud as my old model...what are my options? my utility room which is severly limited in space sits right off of my dining room. are there any quiet reliable models?.. i have also considered using an on demand electric water heater and using an oil boiler for the baseboard heat. will this cut down on the noise and how efficient are the tankless water heaters?
