I read the ? posed by S.Milne. One of the tough things we have to face is that even if we know we are right we still pay sometimes. I always remember one type of problem that has re-occured over the years. We go to a persons house that we have worked on many times over the years for a annual pm. We do our general checks of the burner/boiler. Top off the system. Then suddenly water is pouring out of the top floor ceiling. Guess what? Roofer came in and put new roof on and cut the overflow line. Customer of course say's we damaged the house. Have paid for part or all of 2 of these over the last 10 years. Finally the hammer hit me hard enough in the head and now even if the guys know the house, if there going to fill, go look at the attic tank. It still irks me that I have had to pay, but customer only could see that we caused it to leak and did not want to go after roofer. Oh well, still working on those boilers.
