quietest boiler

Any thoughts on which of these would be the quietest boiler: Buderus, Viessmann, Enery Kinetics? Boiler room next to finished basement. Tired of listening to the roar of the gun.

    well...

its not just the boiler its the burner and how its setup... I have had good results with the Buderus 115 and a Carlin p10-EZ burner as a direct vent.Very quiet. he same boiler w/ a Riello BF-3 would be good too. The EK 2K is quiet because of the box around the burner.
Any boiler w/ a riello will be pretty quiet.
A burner w/ a smallish firing rate/nozzle will generally be quieter than a burner with a large firing rate/nozzle kpc.

Beckett AF on a Thermo Dynamics

It's a cheap steel bolier that came with the house. Running at 1GPH. I figured the lower mass boilers seem to bury the nozzle deeper into the cumbustion chamber, muffling the noise.

    quiet boiler

ive had good results from the MAX boiler by teledyne laars, with a AFII burner. hooked into a univent that provides both intake and exhaust. very quiet and very smooth. no soot build up on exterior

    Was at the Buderus facility,

They had a G115/4(I believe) firing a Beckett with the new cover . I had to touch it to see if it was running . Was quieter than the gas units in the training room . I find the Riello burners to be of the highest quality and reliability, but they tend to roar in the chimney more than others . (Just My Personal Opinion)

In any case , whichever one you choose, make sure to have enough makeup air in the room, leave enough room for annual service and hire a contractor that is comfortable installing and servicing whatever you decide on .Chris

Having installed all of the above.............

I would say the System 2000 EK-1 with the boot and outside air hooked up is easily the quietest. Energy Kinetics claim running their boiler without a draft regulator is OK and without a damper, it is quieter than the others you mentioned. I would pick one of the others mentioned because quiet operation has nothing to do with operational coolness and efficiency.

    Quietest boiler

The Monitor FCX is supposed to be very quiet. Has noise dampening materials on interior.

    Check it out at www.mzboiler.com

    Burnham le

What burner are you using on the Burnham le we put in a ton of them with Beckett burners and think they are good boiler but nowhere near as quiet as the Energy Kinetics ek1 or ek2.

    Biasi SG

I've been to a couple jobs with the Biasi SG/40F5, and they
are as quiet as a properly set up Direct Vent. These are natural draft jobs. I was at a job I designed today with two SG3's(1.00gph), parallel P/S(per Siggy), running "wild"(multi-temp, VSI) until the control system is wired in. Quiet as a church mouse, with common connector to Metalbestos chimney. Will need Fields "fan in a can" make up air, to be installed. These are high pressure over fire boilers.
Amazing characteristics. Boilers were within 1F temp of each other.

On another job, there was an SG7(2.25gph), also into a
6" Metalbestos chimney 25' high. Purred like a kitten. It is the quietest pressure fired boiler I have ever heard.

    Just My Humble Opinion

    quiet boiler

Not only are Energy Kinetics boilers extremely quiet, they are also extremely efficient. They are a low mass, true cold start boiler, and besides that they are also cold shut-off at the end of the heat call. This is why they do not need a barometric damper. I have installed many, and hands down they beat all the other cold start cast boilers available that store excess heat at the end of the call.
