Have a two pipe system, checked the ph of the water, it is over 11, I know I could use vinager but I'm concern about the smell in the house from the vents. What other chemical can be used to lower the ph.

steam and pH
Since this is a steam system the pH of the boiler water will be high. It is not uncommon for a steam boiler sample to have a pH range of 10 to 12, due to the natural cycling of alkalinity which directly effects the pH. What is the specific problem that you are having? Maybe I can help.
