Why doesn't this freeze?

i gather? could it be convection currents from the warmer piping below grade?

My original hose bib (1922) is installed about 4' from the foundation. ½ galvanized supply about 20" below grade. Pipe extends about 18" ABOVE grade. Nice bronze angle globe valve that seems original.

Have never found it frozen even in the coldest weater, zero or thereabouts.

    Who cares ?

Kind of a flippant response I know , but after the couple of weeks we had before this one up here , I wouldn't complain about something NOT freezing .

Chalk it up to good living and being thankful, then don't ask again ! Chris

you sound mad at the weather. here in cleveland we just accept it..know why? cause it gets cold here...know why? cause its cleveland...makes for good heating seasons...be happy.
