oil burner w/power vent

I installed a Smith boiler with a Sideshot ss2 about 2 years ago. I saw the home owner the other day and asked how his system was working. He said great but just the other day he had the primary control replaced because the gun would come on for a few seconds and then shut off. The technition who worked on the burner said it had the wrong primary controler on it, it is supose to have a 15s delay controler. I havne't any clue when it comes to controls but I also know that through all these years the electricians/control man never ask me for a different primary control. Is there any truth to this?

Hope this helps
I have installed a lot of power venters and they have been connected to all different burners and different primary controls and I have never had a problem with a match up. I have seen when the power venter was wired through the primary and was pulling to many amps and causing the primary to go out on reset.0
