is it possible to measure flame signal on spark ignition
systems thru the ignition cable on a single probe system.
i have a customer who is doing it this way. i did explain the proper way. reading off of the burner ground terminal but he still wants to know if it's possible the other way?!
thanks, jay k.0 -
It is possible
but not recommended as the high voltage spark may damage the meter. The reading on some system may also not be accurate.
Single rod systems are proprietary to Honeywell and because of the way the sense signal and the spark are out of phase it can be done.0
